The idea: slider pucks for solid boards.
So, I was out in the garage moving binding from one board to another for the umpteenth time and I was wishing for an better way. I have more boards that bindings so I have to swap around. And, I know that I'm not the only person with this problem....Refried come to mind. Then it dawned on me, what if there were slider pucks available for my solid boards? Then I could just swap around my Spark R&D Ignitions from board to board!
This should be an easy one for you Will.

this are my one pice POM slider plates ... the bindings are old clicker - for Nirto Mirage - i can youse the bindings on my split and on the board how is mount the slider plate ...
No offense, but that seems like a horrible idea. Its just one more thing between you and the board. That is the point of the spark, to remove one step. You want to put it back in on you hard board now.
It seems to me the biggest disadvantage of the split system is that you have to have something like a slider puck between the board and binding.
It seems like the next thing in bindings is trying to make the base plate are as thin as possible and even removing it where possible (see Burton EST system).
But then again, if you are still using step in bindings, I guess you like weird shit that doesn't work very well.
Sorry to take the dig, but I hate step ins, especially after years of teaching snowboarding and seeing how poorly they function and how difficult they make things for beginners.

Gotta say I love that idea, T! Sparks are fkn solid for riding a split with, and the puck would be enough of dampening material for anyone. Could maybe even have a degree or two of canting made?
