Hey Kids...

This TR is coming a little late. We did this little trip about 2 weeks ago but thought you guys might get a kick out of it anyway. My husband, "E", has been thinking about building a noboard/splitboard for quite some time now and finally put his ideas into action. Here's a short viddy of the first day out on the NoSplit. It ended up being pretty sick.



Disclaimer: The snow sucked. We ended up naming the area we rode "Lipstick on a Pig" cause that's basically what it was. It looked nice, but it was still a pig underneath. Here are a couple of still shots of the old lady riding. Sorry, no stills of the NoSplit!

Speedy Maniac was thinking of doing the same. Was that just straight velcro for the binding straps?

Ha ha ... the nosplit is cool. Those nosplit bindings are rad too, minimalist straps and that's it.

Looks like fun.

Sorry for the slow reply. My internet connection was down for a while. Anyway, Chris... that there was strait velcro. I actually put my woman skills to work and sewed up some nice velcro/webbing straps and presto... we were in business. They're really lightweight and seem to work well. Don't really need anything to beefy 'cause there's no way you'll be NoSplitting on anything less than powder.

I'll try to get some pics up later today.

So is "E' using a strap to hold onto as he starts out? If he is does he just let it go when he gets speed?

Yup. It's sort of an elastic/webbing strap so when you pull it tight it's solid, but when you let go it snap back to your board and out of the way. Alot of the noboard guys around here ride holding on to the strap, but I think that makes it a little bit easier and a little less of the surfy feeling. E usually just likes to use it to get going and then drops it so he can surf the earth!

Hey Kids. Finally getting around to getting a couple of pics up of the NoSplit. We went as lightweight as possible... i.e. velcro straps and aluminum heelcups. Check it out and see what you think.

Tex, thanks for the invite! I wish we were headed out to Cali and we'd for sure take you up on a surf trip... but, the little boardergirl seems to keep us alot closer to home than we used to stay.

That's awesome. What makes up the pads for your feet in surf mode? Neoprene or foam?
