Just got back from the Slot and I'm still stoked. It was all that I hoped for. Headed up to the Alpental lot and started skinning around 8:30, but with the woeful coverage, we detoured way west of the waterfall at the base of the Phantom. It turned out to probably be the toughest skinning conditions I've experienced with a few inches of dry fluff on top of an unbreakable and slick crust. Lots of cussing and a few bootpacks were involved, and we finally made it to the ridge of Snoqualmie Mt with the snow getting deeper and deeper. A group of 3 on AT's passed us, so they got first tracks (a mixed blessing, since it was nice to see how the entrance skiied before we dropped).

I dropped in first, with some tough turns on the crust down through the entrance crux. Waited at the dogleg for Erin and Andrew to come down. The swirling snow and variable clouds really contributed to the enclosed nature of the couloir.

He's in there somewhere:

Will post more pics once I get them from Andrew.
Thanks for looking
