Toured Grand Teton National Park for about 5000 vert feet with Spark R & D's new Dynafit conversion kit. One word. SICK . Skinning felt lighter and way more natural, and now my skier bros cannot keep up because there is one less step in the change over process. I believe that from now on, all of my splits must rock this system. I am super, duper stoked.

Will's got a few sets of toe peices left (4 maybe?). Contact Spark and they can get you taken care of. Will is selling them for what Dynafit will sell them to you for ($190), no mark up, so might as well go through Spark. Not going to find them cheaper anywhere else. I spent a lot of time looking for used Dynafits, but never found any, not cheap anyway.

Wyo, glad you are digging the adapters. I'm liking mine too. Will grabbed the proto plate binders from me on his way to Vegas so you should be recieving those to play on shortly.

here in canuckistan the toepieces are cheeper to buy with canapesos....
the vert toepieces are good but the lever arm is longer, might affect the stance you can ride with.
the comfort model has a shorter arm but a higher baseplate... the M5 x 12 screws wont penetrate the converter plate sufficiently. I should have a sack of M5 x 16mm screws in a week or two, i can share them around with anyone else in my situation...
the speed toepieces are the shit. file your hardware to fit flush.

I'm a little confused with all the dynafit toe piece. Which one should work the best with a Sparks converter and a splitboard?

I don't know what model mine are but they look like this:

I also like the fact that if conditions are bad, I am not locked into my setup while skinning and I don't have to worry about trying to get out of my bindings if shit should hit the fan.

i guess my previous comment seems a bit random...
the tlt toepieces have a shorter lever arm.... probly it doesnt matter for most peeps stances...
my front heel is pretty close to my touring bracket tho.... so i got tlts...
the tlt comfort has a higher baseplate, similar to the verts but even 1mm taller... one lousy millimetre.... the tlt speed has a smaller baseplate, its the smallest, lightest, cheepest.

i understand its recommended to lock on the toes when touring. i'd hate ta lose my shiz out there, switchbacking up windcrust or sumthin.... ummm... not that its ever happened to me... theyre meant to be releasable in combination with the heelpiece, its pretty easy to pop off, without heels, if you dont lock em up.

I have older Classic/Speed toes (black and Orange).

I had to grind down the M5 x 12's to 8mm.

Yessir. Like it for variable and firmer conditions, I have a Spearhead with Ignitions for pow days. So depending on conditions it's either a "Red" day (red Spearhead) or a "Blue" day (blue NS Titan). Nice to have choices.


Agree, at 220+ lbs geared up I can walk outta my toe peices easy if I don't lock them.

The Dynafit toepieces are intended to be locked in touring mode. You should be popping out if you don't lock them. Make sure you get a full/second click on some models. Common confusion for Dynafit newbies.

Consider leashes if a runnaway ski in touring mode would be a disaster. You never know when it'll happen.

I think the five hole pattern for the screws is the same for all Dynifit toepieces (at least it has been so far). I think the classic/tlt/lite whatever has a tad less riser than the comfort/tristep whatever, but it shouldn't make much difference.
