Went up to Hull last Saturday with jibC. While it was fun being up there, the conditions were depressing.

We almost made it to Timberline Camp, but the ruts were too deep for jibC's truck. So we backed down to a turn-around spot just below.

Lots of manzaineering.




Soon we were standing on top of Sundream Bowl.


The snow was hard as rock. The wind was out of the east and blowing strong.


It wasn't going to soften on this day. So we downclimbed - I mean skied on down to the truck.

When we got down there, the parade started. Tons of 4X4 vehicles drove by headed for Timberline Camp. All sorts of rednecks and a bunch of folks from the Santa Rosa 4X4 club.
Soon, a whole bunch of gunfire was heard up at Timberline Camp. We responded in kind.
jibC's girlfriend squeezes off a few rounds.




Then we drove down to the lake. It was really low. We drove aways onto the lake bed.




The heard of elk were chillin'.


And of course, the obligatory pic from the top of Elk Mountain on the way out.


We stopped in at the Blue Wing Saloon in Upper Lake for a bite to eat on the way home.

The mountain is in much need of more snow. Oh well.
I guess I'm not missing much - for now...

Nice try, maybe you'll get some corn next time instead of just a day of exercise.
Is that Clear Lake? if so, man I don't think I've ever seen it that low.
I grew up in Lake county (Cobb Mtn.). It's good to see a few splitters poking around in those hills.

That would be Lake Pillsbury, just north of Clear Lake.

You probably rode Boggs Mtn. all the time then. You should see all the new singletrack that's been built in the last 5 years. Pretty cool.

I moved away from there in '88, but I rode my BMX all over that mtn. when I was a kid.

Right on. There's probably 25-30 miles of singletrack all over that mountain now.

thanks for the recon jib. with this warmer weather, I bet some of the stuff farther out would be good.
