The Crew: jcmarechal and myself. There were a few other invites but no takers.
The Plan: Approach from Molas Pass, Summit Sultan (13368'), descend either the NE chute from the summit or the East basin via the East ridgeline into Silverton (9300').
The Execution: Everything went according to plan. We were fortunate to have mild winds and bluebird conditions for the entire day. The snow in the NE chute was windblown chalk for the first ~600' but then the snow softened to silky pow.
Enough crap, here's the photos. Enjoy
The first objective, gaining the ridgeline via the chute to the right of the saddle.
The first traverse.
Future endeavors???
Not your standard view of Silverton.
jcmarechal and the Summit "Oh face".
Our route pretty much followed the ridgeline traversing benieth the peaks.
The NE chute entrance.
Here are the ride pics, enjoy (all pics are of jcmarechal)
Looking back up at Sultan and our tracks. at this p[oint we were only a little over half way down.

That's a pretty killer TR to find on Monday morning. How's stability this year? Lucky you had good wind, I was in almost 80 mph gusts yesterday at 11,400 yesterday here in Flag.
