Hey out there, We've had a four or five riders call in saying that their Spark pins are jamming in the voile touring brackets. I talked to the folks at Voile over the weekend, they said that when they retired one of their punches last year the holes in the touring brackets were coming out with a pretty small clearance for the pins. We're now adding a quickstart guide to our binding packages which outlines how to fix this problem, basically either open the hole up with a 1/4 inch drill bit or some rolled up sandpaper. You can check out the quickstart guide here. If you can't get the parts to work give us at shout at 406.580.9884 and we'll get you hooked up with some new parts.

thanks for posting that. i'm also having issued with the pin going through one hole on the touring bracket. having paid the premium price for this stuff i haven't been overly thrilled about having to modify it to work seeing how when you start fucking with things you stand a chance of ruining them.

follow up to my last post...so the pins provided by spark took quite a bit of grinding to fit the pucks. it actually kept me from going up the mountain when i was supposed to. but as far as the pins not fitting the touring bracket, well, that was a voile fuck up. i tried the stock voile pin provided and they somehow made one out of four holes too small. at any rate, i spent the extra money hoping everything would go together and work out of the box. hopefully as time goes by this will become the case.

Hi Douglas Mafia, I'm a bit confused, you wrote that you ground the pins so they'd fit the pucks? You mean rather than moving the pucks skosh so the pin would slide through? Post a pic por favor.

i ground the front of the toe side pucks so the pin would fit...i could have moved the rear pucks forward a tad but that would have put them over the middle edge. also having read this post i figured i had to to keep the bindings centered where i want them on the board.

...and now that the new board excitement and celebratory has worn off a bit, i'm doing this because i could've moved the rear puck one notch and been fine.

No worries DM, I'm sure your pucks are still mechanically sound, more of a bummer that you missed a day of riding. If you're worried about them you can buy two new pucks for $12 direct from voile here. I typically advise people to set their boards up with the one slot puck on the heel, using the two slot puck on the heel can wake the heel dragon. I think you have a divide wide though, so it might be better for you. You can grab our extended setup guide on this page towards the bottom, as well as the quick start guide. If you need anything else just drop me a line at will@sparkrandd.com.
