I shredded off the summit of Blackmore yesterday (11/9). We wanted to ski the chutes which face Bozeman, but they weren't filled in enough... so we skied the west face... coverage was decent above tree line but watch for rocks! Once you were in tree line it was great! We had to hike for about 2 or 3 miles past Blackmore lake until we could skin. All in all.... really good conditions for early season

Righteous! Thanks for the update. I think I'll be waiting until there's decent coverage before I break out my pristine new board. I'd like to get out and boot with my rock board in the next couple weeks however.

Great spring skiing up there this weekend. Plenty of wetslide activity but dropping in at 9:15 am on Sunday we found the corn on the East face to be three to four inches deep and spectacular for turns.
We skinned up Saturday night (left car around 5:15pm) and camped on the NE ridge at 9,500 feet. We dug a nice little tarp platform and some snow benches if anyone wants to use them in the near future.
Sunday morning we skinned and booted the summit arriving around 9am. Our original objective was the North face but the summit snow was bullet proof and since we had no crampons we were unable to reach the destination couloir. We opted to ski the East face which would allow us to ski right back to our camp. We picked up our camping gear and then proceeded to ski the rest of the East face, this time off the approach saddle instead of the main peak lines.
Lots of mud and water about but we were able to keep our skins on for all but about a 1/4 mile of the approach and descent.
