As the title of my post implies, I want to buy a splitboard, and I'm not too picky about which brand or anything. I'm not entirely ready to put down the money right now, but I wanted to put some feelers out there just to see if anything comes up. If anyone has a splitboard in the 156-162 range that they'd like to sell to me for $5-600 or less, it would make me this happy: :bananas:

Is 165 too big for you?
I'm selling a Prior Backcountry this year (two seasons on it) for 400 CDN.

TK~ I'm actually pretty tempted by your board - that price is hard to beat. I'm not sure if a 165 would be too long, but I think it might be too wide. Prior's website says that their BC Split is wider at lengths of 165 and above - for this year, anyway, though I assume the same was probably true a couple years ago as well. If it really is wider, I think that might be a problem for me with my women's size 8 feet... But I might still be interested. Do you have any pictures you could post?

There was a Burton 162 on TGR last week. Don't think it came w/ anything but the board tho.

Yeah, its the “wide waist” but my size 9.5 boots don't feel lost on it.

For comparisons sake, its only 5mm wider than the 161, while the Burton S-Series 162 is 25.4cm wide (as opposed to 26cm for the Prior Backcountry 165), which equates to less than 1/8” per side.

My biggest concern would be the lenth.
Because the Prior BC is an “all mountain” shape, and a pretty stiff flexing board, it dosn't lend itself well to surfy hop-turns unless you're really working hard.

I'll PM you when I get some pictures in the swap forum.

Thanks for the replies guys, but I think I found the board I'm going to buy over on turns-all-year.com. It's an absolutely beautiful, khyber 157, with some nice burton bindings for $640. I'm stoked! :bananas:

now if it would just start snowing...
