I'm a little late with this TR but as I'm sure most of you can agree, who cares, we just need a little something to get us by until winter. Since I tend to take wayyyyy too many pics, it makes it that much harder to do a TR. So forgive me if the pics get out of control. There's just too many to choose from. In July, PJ and I met up with Ecobrad and his family at Pinecrest Lake for a little camping, swimming and mountain biking. Pj and I had the whole week to play so our plan was to do a little backpacking, exploring and climbing after the weekend. For the weekend, the boys rode, while the girls swam and soaked up the sun.

After a fun weekend hangin' out with Brad and his family, Pj and I head towards Yosmite where we found a hazy, smoked out valley. So much for the scenic drive...
Image
Soon enough we were headed out the 168 to Edison lake and Vermilion Resort. We jumped on the boat taxi to get to the trailhead.
Image
The lake is extremely low this year. They owner told us he would be closing early and cancelling some of his fly fishing guided trips due to the the low lake level.

Along the trail to Silver pass there were tons of wildflowers and beautiful views

Awwww silver pass.....breath taking

Killer views....now back down to find camp
Image
Home sweet home. The mosquitos were pretty bad, especially by the lake. Tons of wildflowers and cool rocks. Camp in the background.

The next morning we headed out. Up to Goodale pass, just shy of 11,000 feet.
Not too shabby from the top

Down into the hot dry mosquito infested forest. ahhhhh the great outdoors. Our next destination-Graveyard Lakes.

We packed up the next morning and fantasized about flip flops and beer on the way out. PJ couldn't wait. He hiked the last few miles in his flip flops (due to the huge blisters he had acquired).
For the last part of the trip, we car camped at Courtright Reservoir. A mini Yosemite with a nice variety of climbing. PJ and I like to play on granite.

We found a little something on our trip that we were joking about making it "that thing we bring" can you find it?

Awesome! It's been far to long since I've seen that view. :( I spent every summer as a kid camping at Edison, and I have seen the water that low before. Lot's of summers in the 80's the lake looked like that.
Thanks for the photos!
