Do you guys think spliting a Lib Tech Banana Hammock would be good?

More to the point - how would the reverse sidecut edges work out whin in skinning mode? Not enough grip?

I think it'd be fine on days you'd want to ride it. I've only had mine (not split) out a few times, but it doesn't seem like it's the stick to take unless it's epic snow.... and if it's epic snow, then side hill grip shouldn't be an issue with a lot of pow.

I don't think I'd want it to be my only split, but for the right days, I think it'd be worth turning into a diy. Other than cat or heli, I don't get very many resort days where it'd the board I'd want all day.

hey - just thought I'd share a couple pics, so you could see what the b - hammock looks like split.... kinda goofy looking.... but when it's floating on two feet of fresh who cares?

I'm just busy trying to figure out what the best skinning setup is (straight edge in or out)? There's a lot of board-meat at the feet.....

About which way to put the skis, I´m inclined to say that it will be tough skinning bow-legged up the BC, and so I recommend you keep the board "lined up", straight edges towards eachother. That´s a 300mm or so waist?

Rumor on the street is that Lib and Temple Cummings are coming out with the "Banana Split" next year. I guess the name was just too good for them to pass up.

Thanks fellas - I was a little concerned about the whole 'aircore' - I had graphic images in my head of the board crumbling into two piles of banana-dust at my feet when I was making the cut.... but no such disaster - in fact it was nothin' but solid wood for both the cut and the edge cut-out. It was nice not having the full wrap-around edge to deal with too..... made the cut reeeeaaaallllllllly easy

The thing measures up at 301mm dead center (subtracting the cut) - I don't think LeBron James would have toe-drag on this beast.... looks like a big potato to me.....

Banana split Sounds like the guys at Lib Tech are investing as much in witticisms as board R&D.... or maybe not.

bcrider, i have heard the same rumors when I'm hanging near the Olympics and Port Angeles, that is, after all the epicenter of LibTechnologies. On any given day you can run into someone testing or filming something here and there.

Nice work! I'm not that up on the diy thing, but I didn't think it was normal to have the extra edge? How'd you do that? It looks like it came from the factory that way.....
