Does Saloman have a reasonable explanation as to WHY their sizing is just a tad off with the rest of the footwear industry? I had no idea of this practice until I tried on the Malamute. I have worn nothing other than a size 12 in gym shoes, dress shoes, cowboy boots, snow boots, ski boots, and snowboard boots, for the past 10 years. So I try on a size 12 Salomon and my toes are touching the front of the boot. A little research and I find out that a "Salomon-12" is equal to a common 11.5. Is this normal? Should I go up to a 12.5 for comfort, or stay tight with the 12 for performance?

luka_brasi,
I don't use the malamutes, but I would consider the skinning for hours and riding that you do. Is it something that you need to be ultra performance snug, or would sligltly more confortable be better for the skin in and still good for the ride? Just my input question. I think that with my latest soft boots I opted for comfort and about a half size larger of my DC Torch dual focus boa and the comfort is great and there is really no performance drop off. Another twist and they are super snug.
