Not much of a trip report, and a little late. . Just a short day out enjoying teh beutiful weather here.... which seems to be the trend here. Good stuff all around guys.
I met up with some people from TAY and ended up with a group of 5. 2 AT'ers, 1 kook, and 2 splitters. T-shirt weather, and less at times made for a great tour day. SKinned ina ways passed teh alpy bc proper to chair peak.
A bunch of pale pasty seattleites wondering what that strange glowing orbe in the winter sky was.
A look at a nice crown from the previous weeks big avi cycle on the way up.
This was kind of in our intended path. We decided with the warming temps we didn't quite feel like traversing under. nothing but some nasty breakt through crust on teh shady side, so we dropped back the way we came.
just alpy stoke i guess.
And yeah, the snow as pretty sticky. Minor glopping goinn on.

Great TR ale, sorry I missed out on yet another PNW trip. Maybe next time. Looks like besides the skin ballin' the trip was quite nice. I guess I better get myself some skin wax, glop stopper or learn how to wax my skins like a few brit sites recommend.

ding ding ding!!!
Yep, the NF of chair. Couldn't spot the other two climbers as there where 3 pairs of snow shoes at the bottom where we started to boot pack as well. It was a little windy and chilly up there and that poor guy never moved in the half hour or so that we where up there. He must have been belaying or something. We also didn't want to mess with any rock fall passing under them.
I beleive the pasty guys where looking at the the crown in the other picture. It just seemed like a fitting caption though.
Mumbles.. pretty funny how my plans went from the oly penn to muir to where I ended up all in about 1 hour. I stil want to make it over there. Quite a few tempting look tours I wouldn't mind doing this spring.

ale_capone, I look at the olys every day. I live a block off the hood canal looking westward. You make the call and I will try to make the schedule fit so that we can go exploring. My guide book lists a few routes in the olys, but with motivation and maybe an overnight trip there could be some fun lines. Access is tough, but there is a chance we could ride where no one has ridden before. I'm glad you made it out, olys, muir or alpy.
Any chance you can hit baker's slack with Jon Dahl on tuesday of next week? I'm hoping to make that and meet some splitboard.com studs.
