Okay, so i can recall being in St. Anton Austria for one week during the winter of 98-99 when Mt. Baker set the recorded snowfall record...and St. Anton was #2 by a few inches. During my one week stay there was over 3 meters of new snow (between 9 and 10 feet). We had two absolute blue bird days and two whiteouts (but of course we still rode).
So, this latest storm reportedly dropped 9' on your CA territory. We have had plently of snow in Washington, but this go around we have not gotten nearly that much. Nearly 1.2 million without power? So what, go play in the snow.
Enjoy...with care...

No, really though, it settles pretty quick, but I would guess areas with thin to no snow pack before this storm will be sketchy. Rating today is moderate and that is with a foot dump yesterday/overnight after a day and a half after the last good storm on Sunday.
