Well well, looks like Cameron got a bit more out of this storm than was called for. Our guesstimates were somewhere between 12-25"+ of new snow out of this storm. The fluffy stuff was also in dangerous form, avy danger was pretty high...as one unlucky skier found out on nearby Montgomery Pass.
We planned on doing something around The Longest Run area when we showed up to realize that big ol boy Nate Russel managed to forget his bindings that morning. Doh! It was his first day of the season so we'll give him some slack here. So we instead decided to ride the south shoulder and keep it towards the trees and do some laps in case he managed to wrangle some binders. Needless to say the rest of us managed to get some pretty good turns in today.
The crew was Ellis(Schralptowner), Jessi(non splitrider with the sick stache that breaks a mean skin track), Flowtorch and myself. Pics by FLOWTORCH. Sadly, Russel's island never joined us and ended up sleeping in Flowtorch's truck all day.
Where we originally intended to ride, just out of view to the left. But decided on the good ol S. shoulder of the diamond.
Nate, sitting on the tailgate, realizing he won't be getting facials today. Poor soul.
Jessi,skinnin up.
Ellis and I,diggin a pit. Conditions look not great.
Ellis, throwin up a monster toeside slasher. A beautiful wall of powder. Soo chunky. This picture doesn't do it justice.
Jessi "Return to Schralptown" Levine. Not bad for skier turns.
Myself,gettin all deep.
And the zone we took down. Not so god. It SW facing, not much of a base. Lots of rocks and the way down was flat with super tight trees and downfall. Sketchy.

Hell yeah dude, Cameron kicks ass! I only get up there a few times a year because its just sooo far from D-town. I'll be giving you a holler when I head up this year. Give Jesse my regards next time too.
Nice pics!

Nice pics. I was getting a bit worried that there wasn't too much snow down south. I will be in your neighborhood over Christmas break and am looking forward to riding on Cameron Pass. Care too hook up?

Cameron has been gettin it pretty good-compared w/ the rest of Colorado. Its slowly starting though.
Shit yeah,we(any sb.com members) could have a splitboard summit at the pass. We're pretty much there every weekend. Our terrain don't compare with yours though. But its all white on the inside........
Baker, yeah,i'd take the wasatch anyday. And mojitos are pretty fuggin tasty,i cant blame him. I had my first one last month at a wedding reception. I'm officially a girl-drink-drunk now. Also,it was a little to cold for the fartbag yesterday. I dont think he would've layered properly. He did wear the 70's porn stache though.

Don't let Jesse hear you talking smack about that onesy, he'll get all teary eyed and emotional and there might be fists thrown/inserted. Between that one as an inner layer and his white, black, pink and purple one as an outer, his steeze alone would have kept him all warm and toasty.
I'm just sayin........where there's a will there is a way.
Lookin good over there. Probably better coverage than Wasangelas.

I wonder how this wind will affect things. It was super sketchy up there this weekend, obviously. I wouldn't go alone. But i always see someone goin up alone. Even saw a female splitter headin up on her own a couple weekends ago. She wasn't looking to shabby either, unfortunately it was our last run and we were leaving. We're usually up there on weekends, gotta work through the week, this week. You gotta pop the cherry on that NS already!

I had really just been waiting for the coverage to be legit enough that I wouldn't shred the hell out of my brand new board. I've been up there a few times this season on my regular board, and I managed to find more than my fair share of logs/stumps/rocks.
I agree about going up there alone. I've been to Berthoud quite a few times alone, usually because I expect that I will run into somebody I know there. However, I know areas there I feel comfortable in alone. Cameron on the other hand, I don't know the terrain or people that well. Cameron isn't exactly friendly to bootpacking, so I normally avoided going there.

True that. I gouged my board real good on this trip. Its bound to happen though in the BC. All obstacles are hidden and unmarked and bound to find the bottom of my board. Luckily you got a sick ass Never summer. We might could show ya the way sometime. I think we're headin down south this weekend or monday maybe. We're goin to Wolf creek or silverton, maybe Crested Butte. Cant wait
Wyo, when you gonna be around? We're not for sure but may be out of town anywhere b'n the 18-26 or 27th. If it's not around that time than we should definitely do some ridin. Shcralptowner may be around too. It's been comin down for a while and should continue through the weekend.
Goods will be had.

Flow-same...I should be ready to ride after Christmas Day or around that time. I will probably be around until around Jan. 1st. Super happy that everyone is getting snow just in time for some good holiday cheer.
