I am a new to the split and I got a proform this year from burton. I am thinking the vibram boots and an s series board. But what about bindings? Should I just use the ones I have? Also, it seems like burton isn't including the split kit this year. Any suggestions on where to get skins and hardware?

Thanks
Hillel

Whatup Hillel, welcome to the forum. Yes, you can use any type of snowboard binding on a splitboard. Your bindings mount to the interface, and the split conversion is performed using the interface, not the bindings.

Check out www.voile-usa.com for skins, hardware, and the split kit.

For the record, Burton, along with one or two other companies, have never sold the Voile hardware kit to go along with their board (The other I can think of that did this was Winterstick). From Burton's perspective, I imagine they're annoyed enough having to admit that most people preferred the Voile interface... It would add insult to injury to then sell their old competitors hardware as well. I suspect they also pay less than anyone else for Voile's IP due to the patent-sharing agreement Burton and Voile worked out when they switched interfaces.

Thanks,
Shep

Buy a pair of Spark R and D Ignition bindings when they drop, if you can get your hands on a pair. Check them out on other threads on this forum. Split specific. Lightest set up available. Bomber.

It just comes down to price and headaches. The board costs less without the interface and skins included. They also don't have the headache of dealing with warranty issues and questions on it (something they probably wouldn't have a whole lot of with the Voile interface but did have with theirs).

I'm guessing you do something in the snowboard industry to receive a Burton proform. That would likely qualify you to get one from Voile if you give them a call. Then you could get a discount on the interface, or just get the full Mojo setup. Venture also treats people in the industry real well.
