Hi all, I just got a splitboard this week! I took it to Kirkwood and rode Fawn Ridge just over the wave and ThunderSaddle a bit in the fresh snow and it was a blast.
I'm still a neophyte BC person and so while I've had some training on avalanche awareness and limit beacon training, I'm mainly sticking to inbounds/near inbounds stuff at KW to practice converting my board and until I get more beacon practice with my friend (he also new, but due to the cost, is sticking with snowshoes).
Hey, I have a pack, shovel, probe, beacon - but no poles - what poles should I get?

Hey congrats on the split, just got my first about a month ago. I was recommended the Black Diamond Expedition poles and have so far been very impressed. They replaced my old REI winter poles.
The BD poles seem very sturdy, not too heavy, relatively cheap, and have a good telescoping latch. I would stay away from older BD poles as the bottom half used a different latching system that was really problematic.
My 2 cents for what it's worth. I know some people swear by Leki, BD, REI, etc. poles, but have also seen complaints come from owners of all these as well.
