snow level is currently at 1600' w/ steady, wet precip falling. could end up with a few inches by morning up high, but not much more than that. more accumulation poss down south in the mtns.
the ice finally broke on the winooski river late today in montpelier. was cool watching the ice chunks pile onto and fold up on one another. hope town doesn't flood overnight/tomorrow as community is fearing.
time to ride in-bounds again, happy spring everyone. will touch base after the corn sets up.
Awesome. I'm going to pull thursday night in the parking lot and head up to the bowl at the crack of dawn. Friday starts my spring break (woo!) and I have no cash and nothing to do so it looks like I might be dancing around the ravines for the week.
i'm bailing for tonight/tomorrow @ tucks. things are bulletproof w/ little hope for thawing before early next week. have fun up there on your break if you go, hope things soften up a bit for you.
had an excellent tour today w/ a buddy up again. wasn't sure we'd still be able to skin from the truck, but were psyched to see we could. got up to the pass just as snowpack was softening. north and west aspects stayed firm all morning. it was bluebird and perfect, calm wind.
fyi, there's still about a 12-18" base up near ridgelines and it's all corned up. down low we're looking at 6-12" and stuff starting to get pokey, water's flowing too. still, plenty of turns and snow to play on though.
resorts are fun and doing well, though dropping slopes quickly.
rain/snow here tonight and poss snow again mid-week too. we'll see.

Soooo tempting, but I have a (non-skiing/riding) friend in town this weekend, so likely not... I'll see if I can convince him to come watch the free show on Lunch Rocks...
hey - check the nh forecast re: tucks this coming w/e. it's snowing here right now in vermont at 1800'.
temps up there will be just below freezing this weekend w/ snow this week and snow showers thru sunday. should be socked in mid-week, poss showing mid-winter conditions again by the w/e w/ avy hazard going up. depends how things play out. there were reports of holes, water and snow bridges already over last couple weeks, especially around little headwall. with any significant new snow, could present some concern if covered up.
watch for wet slide activity and check the advisory online. have fun.
