Anyone get out today? Looks like a temp inversion around Kirkwood. No melt freeze from what I can gather. Was hoping to get out tomorrow around Red Lake, but things look a little grim. Can others confirm?

What a cool bump to read for the first time. Hell yeah, summer in February and I seriously get a little dizzy reliving last March.
Currently there is still white to be seen up on the eastern slope. From where I work over in the foothills on the east side of sparks I can see whiteness in the higher elevation from where 80 goes thru the groove at verdi and south. Mt rose proper is really white. The ski resort don't look too white. My guess is about 8000ft snowlevel. Appears to be more decent at 9000.
That is all.

Wow, what a difference a day makes. Snow is falling. At first light I can see that we are getting shielded here in town but Rose is getting hit good. 80mph gusts and a 200 acre fire over by caughlin ranch is rounding out an interesting morning.
Edit 12nov06: I did a recon up to rose this morning. there is about 3 inches of new super dry snow at 9000. Did not attempt any turns.

Thanks, DD. That's what I expected. Sounds like the snow level will be lowering to lake level. 4 inches above 7,000. Sounds like we've got potential for some series dust on crust.
