Hey all,
Just got back from my first turns of the year. Headed up to the top of the alpine chair and skinned up the apron and took two runs down northwest passage. Good stuff! Pow turns with a base even, didn't hit anything that left a mark. Call in sick tomorrow and session bridger. I also heard about many face shots in beehive basin near big sky.

Sounds a lot better than the Bracket Creek snotel was showing...was the same at Showdown today. Best of all - nobody else there. Way to get the turns in - warming trend next week

I think i said siiiick with only 4 i's . . . but that's what it is. You can even ride the trail all the way out without having to hop too many rocks.

We went up into the basin one south from Frazier in the Bridgers yesterday and it was also nice, although not as fluffy as Blackmore was.

Lots of snow, I didn't hit any rocks either day. Things look like they did in early November last year.

Hey thanks ya'll,
Just came back from the same spot. It was really variable, pow turn, crust turn, pow turn, crust turn, repeat. I would suggest going a little earlier in the day (I started skinning after 4) if you're heading over the apron way so the sun crust softens up. I talked to some guys that did the normal ridge hike and headed off hiker's left, it sounded like they found better conditions. I'm just enjoying getting out there for a bit after cutting out of work early, until daylight's saving's time screws it up next week and enters us into darkness. I guess I'll just have to bail earlier from work
Cheer up flatlander, you'll be riding until 3 am in a halloween costume under the lights at wild mountain in no time. (If I remember right you're from MN, where I lived from '78 to '98.) These conditions were also a good test for the new driver x's that I picked up the other day. So far so good, I'll write a review on them once they're broken in and I have a real opinion. More snow in the forecast for early next week.
