I hear the boat my be running soon . Maybe next weekend. Anyone interested , looks like I dont have any shasta taker, so this is my fallback plan

P420- Last year I went about this time of year and the sun cups were almost to the summits/ridges. We're talking a couple hundred feet of good vert max. Flintys and GPS didn't soften up till 2 or 3 as well.

With that said, I'll check my calendar (wife).

I figured the cups were getting big. I hit up "s" this time last year and it was pretty good. I was hoping the lake shuttle would be running and it would be easy to get up to greensmoke. Hopefully some of the more narrow stuff will be shaded better and be in better shape.

I took the shuttle last year and booted up Greensmoke to the plateau and then hiked over to the top of Flintys. Nice day but the shuttle lagged.

Did you boot up s last year?

Yeah, me and Dave took mountain bikes around the lake. The boat wasnt running at the time

Saw some pics from gimpy and joesnow on BCR's shasta TR on TGR of the Conness basin. Big suncups, but up on the glacier and chutes it looks pretty good still.

Cool, I'll report back soon. I know I'll only get one day in though. Prolly sleep in the lake parking lot or something in order to get an early start.
