I'm not too good at these trip reports but I always like seeing everybody else's so I'll try to share too. I don't have too many pictures because my batteries died on Sunday. We brought the sleds and cheated for a lap or two but we still skinned a bunch of course. We didn't venture into the bowl we usually lap but rode Dunderburg, Black and some other peak just east of black on Saturday evening. The corn was pretty ripe by 10 as it was pretty hot out. Feel free to fix any of my peak name mistakes or spelling...lol It was Yobart and Mtnrider only on this trip. Since I got the sleds, no one wants to ride with me anymore
Yobart and Mono Lake in the back
Black and the peak just east we rode on Saturday evening
First turns on Dunder...
Here comes Yobart
Seeing how far I can dig the trench...bail!
Saturday avo(that is aussie for afternoon) run
Slash...BRAP! (or make your own moto noise here)
Base camp, we rode out on the sleds and camped out
So I pull up in front of my house and am waiting for oncoming traffic to cease so I can pull in my driveway. So I'm stopped and the Explorer behind me comes to a hault as well. All of a sudden, a twice a year motorcyclist runs into the back of the stopped Explorer. He was only going about 5 mph but he couldn't have been paying attention. He broke his leg and may have sustained a neck injury. They landed the heli right there across the street in the field and flew him out of the canyon to the hospital. That heli was bad ass.
I'm not sure of the distance but the road is still closed at least a mile down from the campground still. I didn't get a look at 120. It was super fun out there though.

Yo mtnrider. See you guys made it further north than planned. Did you guys ever looked @ union Valley at all? Did 1 day in So-Cal @ Badel Powell. Hope to see you this weekend somewhere out there !
I don't know exactly how close the heli was to the lines but I was nervous.
Eco...it's almost mtn biking time. I don't think you can snowmobile in that area. I'm heading up again this weekend so I might be grounded next.
Dutch...yeah, I told you we would just be rolling along. It was pretty hot out and we decided to bring the sleds so we could scout around more for next season. Prime sledding area from 395 back to the wilderness area.

Wanna plan a mtn biking/camp trip to Downieville? I know it's a trek for you but TONS of singletrack and vert. Some shuttlable, some not. The Carson Pass area has shit loads as well.
Thanks man. I was waiting for someone to ask...I HAD to get out this weekend...felt good to do some skinning.
We only cheated one lap, but there are lots of possibilities.
I'm real happy with my new deck. I'll have to wait until next season to see how she fairs in the POW but so far it was exactly what I wanted. I'll probably play around a tad more w/ lay up and see how it alters the flex but it's much easier for me to throw around and initiate my turns. Of course this was with only my day pack on so far. I'm sure in the soft corn she was forgiving on me too I call her "The Machinist 162" I've got some more tweaking but the general shape and flex I was real happy. I'll have to test her in a chute soon
It definitely stayed together so that is good right?
