I've decided to get a new split and am on the fence between a Prior Backcountry and a Never Summer T5.
One of my big concerns is weight since about 95% of my time on my split is in the uphill direction. According to Prior's website, the Backcountry will save me 3 lbs compared to the Burton I'm on now. But whenever I pick up a solid NS it feels like an anchor. Could someone out there PLEASE weigh their NS T5 (preferably a 165 cm) with or without bindings, and let me know what it weighs?
And for what it's worth I've done my research and read loads of posts about each one. I've formed the opinion that NS is nearly bombproof and is of great quality while the Prior may have some issues as far tip/tailhooks being spaced incorrectly, and some inserts not being flush, etc. I think the Prior probably has a shape that is better suited to me though.
