I Spend alot of time in Ashland, OR and would be stoked if any of you could point me in the right direction for 1/2 to full day trips.
Already know about the Mult-Day Mt. Shasta ascents that several of the retail outlets put on, but I'm more looking for a 1500' shuttle near Mt. Ashland, or any 1/2 to full day trips. I figure there's gotta be a bunch of 'em.
My boarding/backcountry skills are advanced (although splitting is new to me), my fitness level however.....well that's why I'm looking for some short trips to get me going! To much resort skiing for me! Time to earn 'em!
Cheers

look to the west, the big snowy mountain over there is great for a day trip. crater lake also has many easy to access lines. that should be a good start

Sorry for the directionally challenged question, West of Mt. Ashland? Dutchman/Siskyou? Or are you referring to Shasta, McLaughlin, Bailey or other?
Definetly going to check out Shasta, but Mt. A is only 20 mins vs Shasta 1hr plus. Thanks for the help, Crater Lake is definetly an option.

I saw that you are occasionally in the S. Oregon area and looking for some BC lines. I'm a newbie at BC splitboarding (only 1 trip under my belt) and am looking for others in the S. Oregon area who are wanting to do day-trips. I'm only able to get out on weekends and those are getting less frequent with the mt bike season starting up. But, if you are in the area, looking for a BC partner and are willing to put up with a newbie splitboarder, drop me an email:
p.s. i'm not sure of the steepness of terrain, but you might check out brown mountain, directly across from mt mcloughlin and next to fish lake. i know that it gets BC skied and is much closer to vechile access in winter than mt mcloughlin
