Hey guys! As their is very few reports from Europe I am sending the ending season trip report. Winter in Europe was very flat, no snow till January and then little bit snowfall but nothing crazy, well.. few spots got heavy snowed in. Anyway we targeted small mountain village in Austria -call Vent(1900m) in The Ötztal Alps (German: Ötztaler Alpen, Italian: Alpi Venoste) a mountain range in the Central Eastern Alps, in the State of Tyrol in southern Austria and the Province of South Tyrol in northern Italy. Early spring conditions, snow was getting wet and heavy after 1pm, some of set powder on the north exposure, temperatures from -1 to +12C avalanche level 2. As we are intermediate splitboarders and skiers we took it easy after we discovered cracks and snow started to slide down gently. The village location was away from resorts nice and quiet. If anybody planing holiday in Europe i could recommend, accommodation 15euro p/p self catering. Not bad. For view full story please view link bellow. Ziby
Thanks guys, It was my firs time in Ötztal and was amazed. Shwalbster, I only seen them in Vent and this is place dedicate to skituring so I assume they put them in other places like this in Austrian Alps, the checkpoints are sponsored by RaiffaisenBank, useful action taken.
