I just got a GNU Billygoat Split and was wondering if the countersunk holes at the base for the Karakorum clips need to be filled in to protect the core. Just hot wax and forget about it? How much of a pain is it to remove that wax to adjust clips if needed?

Most manufacturers will put a plastic insert in the areas around the clip holes so that the pass thru is not through wood core where water can penetrate.

It is super easy to use a small flat blade screw driver to scrape the wax out of the countersunk bolt head.

Thanks philip. The countersinks are flush with the nuts so the plastic insert is hidden. Going bc tomorrow for the first time. Can't wait.
