Conditions have been all-time in Vermont. We've received over 3' in the past week and pretty much all lines are filled in and riding well. It all started last Monday, March 10th. We received 4" overnight. Then we woke up to another 3" Tuesday morning. I didn't ride these days but got some work done so I could ride Wednesday afternoon and all day Thursday.

I made it up to the mountain for the last gondola on Thursday and utilized the newly arrived daylight savings evening sunlight to go for a hike. It was nuking snow and blowing pretty good. The weather made walking and seeing really challenging in exposed areas. The snow had started earlier that day and a solid 5" had already built up. I rode one of my 'go to' lines and didn't stop from the top of the mountain all the way to the bottom. 2,500' vertical of fresh pow (see gopro vid at bottom of page linked below).

It snowed hard all night and by Thursday morning, that 5" had turned into 20". Everything was riding so good. The snow was so deep that we had to stick to the steeper terrain. Nothing too crazy, but lots of wind affected areas were cracking and shearing off as soon as they were touched. Had to stay on our toes and keep out of terrain traps. That afternoon the sun popped out. So rare to have sunny pow on the east coast! Got back to the car at 5:30 exhausted, hungry, and happy.

Friday was spent catching up on work.
Saturday morning was spent catching up on family time.

I got back up to the mountain on Saturday afternoon. It was warm at the base and I got real nervous about the snow being too wet and expecting low's below 0ºF that night. By the time I got to the top, it was dumping light fluffy snow. Almost a 20º difference between top and bottom. After an hour or so, 3" had fallen and everything was starting to re-fill. I got 2 good laps in and back to the car, again at 5:30. The snow kept coming.

Sunday morning was a sleeper. Most people saw the warm snow and cold temps and probably didn't bother going to the mountain. 8"+ fell over night and Sunday was cold and sunny. Everything was fully re-filled with A+ quality snow. We made the most of Sunday and didn't get back to the car until 6pm. Great day.

Overall, one of the best stretches I can remember. Got to ride a lot of lines that hadn't really been rideable all season due to lack of snow.

I had a good crew every day and managed to snap off a few good photos. All photos are at the link below, but I posted some of my favorites in this post. Enjoy!
