Hello ! Has/is this being done ? or is it a bad idea ? If so, with kind ? Making my first splitboard now... and i find all the accesories to be preaaaty pricey (i got other money sucking hobbies aswell )
Been searching the forums here for hours on hours... Some info i have found tho... Like, skins should be as wide as possible... right ?
Been snowboarding for many years, but when it comes to skins and the rest, i'm preaty much blank.
Jimw notched his board to accept the BD tailclip and rather artfully cut the tip to fit his split viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3461 tail
And generally yes, wider is better; but not too wide. You want to be able to edge-in for traverses. That point might be moot per your DIY inner 'edge.' There is some talk right now about short/skinny skins for rolling terrain, but that's a whole 'nuther can 'o' worms.
