This season has been pretty lame on the west coast so far and I wanted to contribute some stoke from last weekends storm. With questionable freezing levels in the Oregon Cascades, Drew and I headed east to the Elkhorn Mountains and colder temperatures. We rode Anthony Lakes resort on 1/09, and then splitboarded in the local backcountry on 1/10 and 1/11.

With poor visibility all weekend we were mostly leap frogging glades. I took got a lot of pictures of Drew riding.

On Friday night, temperatures warmed, brought 6" of higher density snow, and created an upside down structure to the snowpack.

But not to worry, we picked some mellower slope angles and kept on boarding.

Great pics, looks like fun. Really like the pic where the clouds are lifting right in line with the far ridgeline and you can _almost_ see out into the sunny plains.

Rad! Love that zone. Hoping to get out there a bit later, maybe it'll still fill in a bit more this year.
