yen- we went out yesterday from inbounds. didnt get too far due to several setbacks on my part. may try again next week. didnt dig but i had the gut feeling that nothin's too stable right now.

sledded in from little bear canyon a couple years ago. lots of logging roads and some clear cuts.. fs cabin a few miles in.

nope, not bear canyon/ ellis. little bear road is off 191 before you get into gallatin canyon. you can also get there from south cottonwood.

Yes. It's fun, got lots of Ellis-like terrain. Unfortunately also an Ellis-like snowpack.

I'm back in MT now. Things were really sketch when we left Jackson. Sounds like things are still pretty touchy. The Tetons etc also have a persistent problematic facet layer though not one on the ground. One of the great things about JH is the abundance of good riding that's not in avalanche terrain.

oh gotcha. billings, right? seems like the teets have seen much of the same layering problems as MT.. we just dropped down to moderate yesterday, so im assuming down south is no safer. and that hut.. same Jackson peak as in Turiano's Yellowstone book?
