I was shooting for obscure links for this thread. NOAA, local news channels, weather.com, etc... would be obvious. Here is one I use often (thanks BG) that is quite useful for anything coming off the Pacific:

Any other good ones out there?

The National weather service. Weather.gov

I like the "pinpoint forecast"

Its the only place I can get a different forecst due to altitude. For example , mammoth lakes. You can click on the area of the map and you get the forecast for 8000 ft or so. But you can click on Mt. Morrison and get the forecst for 12,000 ft. These areas are only 7-10 miles apart but the difference of 4000 ft you see a large increase in snowfall amout and wind speed

noaa.nws.gov, but I am very biased . I like Byran at opensnow.com for the Tahoe forecasts. Between the forecasts discussions, sat coverage, climatology at NWS Sacto and NWS Reno and opensnow that covers a lot. But I like to poke around other weather places like http://squall.sfsu.edu/crws/jetstream.html for jetstream maps too.

We are lucky to have a few well researched weather bloggers for the Wasatch

http://www.wasatchsnowforecast.com/

http://wasatchweatherweenies.blogspot.com/

and of course the NWS zone forecast is my go to source when I'm road tripping, for the same reasons Tex gave.

Getting turns in the Mendocino National Forest requires crafty websurfing
to access snowpack information.

This one is fun

Short-term High Sierra forecast via 395travel.com (Dennis Mattinson, formerly easternsierraforecast.com). Otherwise, its a combination of those already mentioned.

Lots of different regions and settings

And I like squall.edu for jet-stream.

NOAA's my first go-to. After that I like mountain-forecast especially for elevation forecasts of specific peaks.

I also run Living Earth as an app on my mac.
