I am in south lake. I had a season ending injury in January so I did not get out as much as I would have liked to. Looking to get out more this season to make up for it:). I did manage 5 bc outings last winter. Have aiare1, and backcountry experience not split mountaineering etc. Schedule is relatively flexible for midweek outings (ie I can plan it and get out with 24 hours notice).

Anyway ping me if interested, let's have a beer etc.

while i didn't have an injury preventing me from getting out there, simply put, i just wasn't able to get out there. i'm gonna try to make a more conscious effort this season to enjoy some BC out there. flew out that way today (yosemite/mammoth/bishop) and saw the first signs of winter. my time off/availability usually revolves around the weekend plus or minus a day.

I'm down Jamie, I've got AIARE 1 and am an experienced boarder but no backcountry experience yet, unless you count the outing at the end of the Kirkwood AIARE class... I'm out of Sacramento so I'm mostly a weekend warrior.

If you are around this weekend I am planning on catching Saturday's 12" of fresh, @ Kwood or Heavenly (any idea who will have the steep terrain open?). Could meet you around that.

Hey guys, new to the forum and new to Splitboarding. Looking to get my AIARE 1 (Any recommendations?). Zero backcountry experience unless it's summer backpacking. My riding is off-piste and looking to get out of the resorts.

I had my Libtech T-Rice 161 split by company in Oregon (Sicksplits). I just received my Spark Magnetos. I don't have a car so partnering up with somebody is the only way I can get out there.

I would recommend Kirkwood's AIARE class, it's reasonably priced and you are right there in avy terrain, so on day 2 and 3 the class actually goes out on the mountain, which is awesome.

Yup..I concur..it's nice having access AT the mountain. The LTCC has the class too, but you dont really get out there, you just look thru a lot of binoculars so I hear..

Anyone up for a split Tuesday? I know temps are going up, so maybe something more mellow but high elevation enough to get the goods without thrashing base.

I'm a 29 year old from Canada with 9 years experience in the backcountry.

Hit me up!
