Hello
I am riding a 163w Jones Solution but want to get something that is a bit longer, lighter, and stiffer.

I like the shape and ride of the Solution, but as am getting something more like 167 or 168 the weight will become more of an issue. The carbon solution (last year's version anyway) weighs about the same so that isn't an obvious answer...but perhaps I bite the bullet and get one and buy the carbon SL bindings to offset things.

I am considering
* Prior BC carbon xtc 168 or 172; or
* Rossi XV split 167

these appear to be a few of the lightest alternatives and I suspect the shape of the Rossi is most close to the Solution. I have US size 11 boots and run lower angles so I like the extra width, the Rossi made be a bit narrow at the waist.

Please advise any thoughts?
thank you

I've got the rossi experience 68mw solid from last year and love it. It's pretty much a a lighter stiffer flagship. I think they redesigned the xv for this year, I haven't looked at the specs to see how different it is though

I have the rossi 67 and its pretty light and fairly stiff. its shape this year is big nose rocker, a decent camber between bindings and a slight tail rocker. never ridden the experience or a solution so dont know how it compares but i ride US 11 boots with +15 on the front and -10 on the back and toe drag has only been an issue in rotting snow late season.
Just as an FYI i snapped a board half on it last week and am waiting to hear back if it will be warrantied under a defect or not. Not the first person in NZ ive heard of snapping one..

Here are some shots of the old 168MW and the new 167 XV

The new XV core is very thin up around the nose so makes it light, but a lot narrower.

The older DIY is way stiffer, but with inside edge and sidewall a bit heavier.

Until Draizuh told me he snapped hism, I was convinced this was the board - directional - camber - light!
Might just be a day tripper now, The FirstLight splits will be all I ride next year and there will be a board that is cross between the 168MW Rossi Exp and the NS Summit
