the people making this crap are just ... not on the planet ... get some real prices normal people can afford...
what a ripoff these split companies are ...just gouging us!!!!!
Yeah a pair of guys who love splitboarding, take a risk by hand making a newly designed binding, employing people in the US rather than China decided to 'gouge' their fellow friends. Get over it, this is how much it costs.
Starplit - You're welcome to start your own, quality binding company and sell them cheaper than the Klosters.
but whats 850$ for bindings i'll just dig out some gold from my backyard mine.. K puts 500$ into the ...unit and reap $350 for the pocket sell 100 of these and get and =35K$
wish i was in that kinda biz!
I hate to break it to you starspliter, but the majority of the goods you buy have Margins (profits) of 41% or more.
I think you are forgetting that these guys have to purchase and finance machines and other various production tools and materials. Things like CNC machines (not cheap), injection molding setups, presses etc etc.. Additionally there is time and money invested in developing and testing prototypes. Some of which never even make it to market. Spark's Edison interface is a perfect example of this. In order for a business to stay in business they have to pass these costs onto the customer. Over time these bindings will be available at lower costs (See Sparks Blaze and Burner pricing).
The great thing about these guys doing the R&D and progressing the sport is that it gives us options. If these new options are not worth your money, you can continue to utalize old bindings with Voile slider plates.
