Took my 18 y.o. daughter to Lincoln with summit of Red MT as our goal. So much wind & new snow avy danger was considerable - high so we spied this nice area of burnt timber with ~ 1400' of vert in each run. Wasn't the weekend that was planned but was a great time just the same. Mostly nice consistent pitch & enough shelter. Avy danger was much better. Great decision as the turns were as good as any I've managed yet this season although nothing like nomads & splittilps last TR - was worth the drive as conditions close to home have gone downhill bad in the last 2 weeks.

Awesome. Tight trees with a couple feet of blower pow. Nice.

I'm taking my 2.5 year old for her first snow sliding trip this weekend. We'll be on a saucer but slidin's slidin. I'm gonna bring the split and show her that's all about too. I know she'll think it's funny when I come rippin down the sledding area.

How old was your daughter when you introduced her to boarding. I've heard that you should introduce them to skiing first. I'm thinking maybe a cross country skiing trip in the spring.

Lewmt,

Nice photos. I am stoked that you spend time with your daughter. You two are coming out to Scrub Fest yah? We will be hosting "Girls only" tours lead by a fantastic Nol's instructor and friend.

:D I am taking my little girl (finally a month old) on her first ski/snowboard outing to Jackson Hole on Sunday. The Misses and I will take turns chillin' in the lodge with her.

Ecobrad....I concur...start em skiing first on the old cross countries. Such a great tool to learn on, but don't wait too long to put her on a board.

Good to see a TR from you Lewmt! Sounds like conditions up there aren't exactly prime avy-wise - maybe you'll have to come down here for the goods once it snows again. The photos in the burnt timber give a nice vertical dimension to your turns. Hope to see you at scrubfest.

Thanks
I have to admit I was pretty surprised when she decided to come with. I think she's slowly becoming a BC believer esp. with the nice turns we had those 2 days.

It doesn't look promising getting her to Scrubfest - has some sort of school band festival thing that week - she's talking about ditching it so we'll see(I'm not discouraging it - some good dad I am  ??). I can't wait to get there though.
