last year there was some for 50% off, but i think they were all cosmetic blems... i could be wrong.

last year was a pretty bad year for retailers tho, i think that had something to do with it too...

I think 20-30% off is standard late in the season. Sometimes you get lucky and stumble on 40 or 50% off deals in the spring. That's how I got my Venture Zephyr and Never Summer SL. :doobie:

Jones report from Australia

I received my "board" from the Jones importer.
The only one they shipped me from my order was a 152 womens  :nononno:  :nononno:  :nononno:
They decided that us ozzies didnt deserve boards this year
This is one of the new GST boards
The board looks good, alignment was good
The K board clips and nose/tail clips are good
I cant fault it.
I must say that the magnetraction is extremely mellow, not really noticeable.

The boards was picked up and is currently being used in Japan.
The board looked nice, but the customer not happy with the board for some reason, not what she expected.

Cheers

So if a board is labeled TN for country of origin, it's most definitely NOT a 2013, I gather?

I know this thread is old but wanted to share my experience. My 2012/13 Jones solution delam'd after 10-15 days of use. Only ever used late season so it never saw a single rock and very minimal brush etc. Hopefully the 13/14 models are a little hardier.

My 2012 Solution has delamed in the base and around all bindng insert packs except one.
This is after 10-12 days riding.
This happened within the warranty period and warranty was agreed on by the online store i bought it from here in Australia.Due to a family issue i didn't get the board back to the seller right away and was then told i had no warranty even though when i first notified the store of the problem, it was within the warranty period.
I then phoned Rush Distribution who import the boards and distribute them here in Australia and i was asked to take photos of the delam and email them to Rush,so i did that.
I've still not heard anything from Rush even after a reminder email so i guess they want nothing to do with me.A bit poor i think, so this morning i sent a email to Jones Snowboards to see if they can help me out in some way.
I'll update on the outcome.
I checked out a 2013 Solution at the Australian Splitfest and the quality looked good.

what you see is 50% max of the Quality of a board outside - inside is more importand.... a nice desing brings nothing....

what you can see first is : edges and base are with out gaps... no bubbels.
in the no see Sektor: the core - the sprips are with out bones, the layers are 100% wett at the lamination, noe micro air bubbels in the resing-matrix.... the ime at pressing and the Parameter.

M.M : the importand things no one see it and now one now it - but after a hard seasion you can feel it..... the products are made for max 2 saision... ( splitboard 50 - 100 Trips)

Snowboarding and the climate couldn't ask for a better ambassador than Jeremy Jones. I expect he will get his board company to matching quality. Let's follow these reports with fair reporting of warranty.

Honestly: If JJ really wants his company to be a leader in high quality, innovative snowboards, he needs to bite the bullit and go all in. He should start his own manufacturing here in the US. This is going to be the only way to get full control of quality and performance issues. Doing this would also allow him to have much faster prototyping, and would shorten the board development cycle dramatically. And, of course, it would also employ more folks in the US, hopefully actual riders.
While this will take some capitol, I do not think doing this would be all that difficult, and the upside for his company would be tremendous.
Venture does it, Never Summer does it, Chimera does it, so it is clearly possible.
Yes, the boards might have to cost a little more, but the snowboard market is still maturing, and I see plenty of riders willing to pay a little more for a higher quality board made in America.

Totally agree, and for all those reasons I sort of expect that that will eventually happen.

shredgnar: I do not know if you have any manufacturing experience, in the snowboard industry, or in other industries, so here are some of the advantages of running your own manufacturing as oppose to outsourcing it:

1. You have total control over quality and materials used.
2. You can get prototypes made quickly, and at almost anytime, allowing you to try more experimental ideas and test them sooner, leading to a much shorter development cycle, and faster advances in designs, constructions, and materials.
3. You have greater control over costs and pricing.
4. If you are one of the smaller clients of a large manufacturing facility, getting your product built is a low priority for the manufacturer, so you always get treated poorly, and your product always gets built last, and by the least skilled workers, on the last shift, etc. I suspect Jones is one of the smaller brands being built by that manufacturer, so they will always be a lower priority for them. When you do it yourself, your product is always the top priority.
