That's an 88/89 Gyrator, that model's second year. I recall there was an early Gnu / K2 collaboration that gave the early Gyrators Gnu-like off-piste shapes (rad!) and foam cores, but cap construction and odd-ball plastic sidewalls set them apart from Gnu construction.
I'd hang onto that deck as a retro pow shredder rather than split it, for two reasons. First, I'm not sure that board's foam construction would maintain enough integrity once split to ride well. Second, I'm sure it won't fare well as a rock board - too fragile.
