Just picked up used Verts on eBay and want to take off the yellow straps and put my extra Clicker SST bindings on them.
I keep seeing from the SEARCH of this site lots of comments on pre-made Clicker Verts and also about people modding them, but I cant' see any of the pictures, nor any "how to" of putting Clickers onto standard Verts.
This could be a no-brainer: drill the holes, screw in, go. But as a novice plastic modifier, but I'd like some guidance from a "been-there, done-that" crowd.
The K2 binding can mount without any drilling or mods if you like. There have been some streamlined install by others. Try searching the "verts" threads.

I guess I'm on my own. Yes, I've read about every post on Verts, and none have pics for Clicker MOD Verts. There are some for Clicker Verts, but those pics are gone.
So if you have some Verts that you took the straps off of and attached Clickers, I would be most appreciative to see what you did and hear how you did it.
are you going to be using clicker snowboard bindings or the clicker snowshoe/assent ski plate?
BCR,
Snowboard bindings: I'll just be using some old SSTs I have.
Although I'm thinking that I might need a "plate" instead of attaching the bindings directly to the Vert. Or large washers to distribute the load. That's the guidance I'm mainly looking for, as I dont' know how strong the deck of the Verts is.
Actually, drilling holes is my main concern, as that could impart the integrity of the Verts.
From any Clicker set-up and guidance, I'll be a couple steps closer.

He's a nice guy and I'm sure he can give you some good info. I asked a similar question because I was mounting slider pucks to the deck, and he said that holes were fine but to try to put large washers underneath. I'm thinking of trying to sand down the "traction ridges" in those areas as well but not sure if that's necessary.

The Verts are pretty strong, you should be ok drilling through them, mine have been fine (although I really don't use them too much).
I used the K2 Clicker snowshoe binding plate which is simpler and lighter than a full on binding but the price is right on your old SSTs so use em. I had to grind down some of the little traction spikes on the top of the snowshoe near where the binding goes. With the SST you may not need to. Also be sure to put your boot in the binding and center them on the snowshoe to mark the holes before drilling.
Hope that helps, here are some pics.
The stock Clicker Vert and my stripped down version.

BCRider, you are so the man for splitters. Thanks so much for this.
You haven't had any problems with your stripped down version? If it works with just the toe and heel piece, unconnected to each other, screwed into the Vert, that's some strong plastic, and even I should get something that works.
Did you get up last weekend? Rubicon was epic, as was the whole range.
