Looks like I'll be free Wednesday afternoon, May 8 through Wednesday morning May 15.

Anyone want to camp out at St. Helens for awhile?

I'm planning to do the mother's day climb this Sunday. Would be up for camping the night before.

FYI

There's an alternate route to climb Mt Adams this year. Unless you can find a shortcut closer to Around the Mountain trail, be prepared to hike, hump over down trees, and creek crossings.

I'm new to the forum and splitting, but I'm stoked on getting into the b/c, shredding the gnar and doing a bit of mountaineering. I starting riding almost 20 years ago while living the dream as a ski/snowboard shop kid (waxing skis, fitting, organizing, etc) near Sierra in the South Lake Tahoe area. I worked Sat/Sunday and rode the rest of the week.

I've had a few b/c trips this year including TJ/Cooper Spur area and a Mt Hood Summit via the Pearly gates on April 24th (The old chute was sheet o ice at the top  ). I'd love to get out and do some laps on the snowdome (Chris B. seems to have the snowdome dialed), summit Adams once the road opens up (or sooner if anyone is willing/knows the way) and do any other b/c splitting anywhere that still has decent snow.

I'm generally available on weekends and occasionally weekdays as well. A Mt Adams summit trip could be very nice once the road opens. If the weather looks doable any day next week (memorial day or other) I can most likely make it happen. I have a sub outback w/ heated seats and a desire to get out of PDX anytime I can

Cameron

Does anyone know anyone who's gotten in and skiied Adams this year?

Dr. Chronic, paging Dr. Chronic... :doobie:

I want to do it for sure, and the snow is melting fast.

I just combed TAY and it doesn't look like ANYONE has hit Adams. At least not reported.

Who's down for a bushwhack? The rangers are steering climbers around to the north side, but I want that SW chutes run again, maybe with a side of headwall for spice.

Could do it the weekend of 6/8. LMK if interested...

hey cameron, good to see you on here.

nomad alluded to getting into the north side of adams with 3 miles of snowed over road to the trail head.

there is some really good slopes there on the lower adams glacier.

yesterday was a super legit pow day! i got some videos, they will be up here shortly.

Pow in late May... Good stuff. Looking forward to the photos. I'm available next Wed or Thursday for a little cascade adventure.
