Well, after initially struggling with the finer points of boarding in powder I'm finally ready to leave the skis at home and head for the hills with the splitboard. Mostly.
Sunday was beautiful in Bullion Basin. About a foot of fresh from a couple days earlier on top of a fairly firm base. Perfect conditions for learning since it doesn't take forever to dig yourself out when you fall. A popular destination, things were fairly tracked out from the previous day but we still found some good runs. On skis this would have been just another day of squiggling down the run one turn after another. On the board my spirit was free to roam.

Special thanks to Philfort and Pbelitz for waiting for my slow ass on a powder day.

Nice work gregm. I was there on Saturday and did a lap from Norse Peak down into Bullion. Foot of blower ontop of crust and even deeper between the shelter of all those ridges. It was soooo good that another line was warranted but down another protected, wind loaded gully. Only this time the clouds cleared and the sun came out. Bluebird for our top to bottom run to the cars. Also was a good opportunity to scope out far far north which appeared to already be tracked out. Like locusts devouring the hillside.
