Hi from Italy, this is the video of 2 days trip in Adamello mountain. We started from Tonale pass (1850 m) go up to Maroccaro Pass (2970 m) then we go down to Mandrone hut (2400 m) and then up again to Lobbie Alte hut (3000 m). We slept there and the day after we go to Venezia Pass (3200 m) and the down to Sozzine Valley (1200 m) via Pisgana glacier.
Up to Maroccaro pass
What expect us to get to Lobbie alte hut from Mandrone hut
Hi, in this video one of us (the one with green and black pants) wears Alien 1.0 (with carbon upper shell), the guy with white pants wears Alien (with plastic upper shell) and I wear TLT5. I also have Alien (plastic) and compared to TLT5 I found them a lot better when going up-hill but a little less supportive when riding. On long tour like the one we did last week (first day 1800 m upphill climbing) I could appreciate the weight differences between Alien (850 g) and TLT5 (1200 g), but most the difference was in stride lenght and upper shell rotation. For long tour I would use Alien while for shorter hikes I prefer TLT5. I use to ride with both upper shell lock in downhill position while the other guys in the video uses to ride with rear boot upper shell also in touring position. Personally I have try also this comfiguration and I think that it depends from the terrain you're riding (hard snow=both boots locked, soft snow=rear boot open).
Cool vid and great conditions, but why is your board on your back??? You see, there are this things called "splitboards" nowadays. If you looked around the web, I bet you could find some info on them.
really? I think a missed something in the last 31 years Personally I think that having very light skis for uphill (my skis weigh 650 grams, including binding and skin) and a very light board (I've a custom made Tropical Tube board that weight 3 kg including bindings) is better than having lots of weight on feet. I know i'm in the wrong place to convince a lot of people Maybe depends on terrain that I've to face in my tour but I prefer short skis, it's less tiring and I can go higher
