I am currently waiting for karakoram to send some replacement climbing wires, as mine are not functional (defect). I'm getting antsy though, and wanting to go out anyways. Can anyone offer their experience climbing without the climbing wires? Not ideal of course, but bearable??

I go slower when ascending steepish skin tracks.

Do yourself a favor and get some voile dual risers for $36. They are the best made split-specific risers I've used.

Any idea if those work with the Karakoram lock out option? BTW I went through three pair of Voile risers before I got some that didn't fall apart because I cut off the rubber sleeve. YMMV

FYI for everyone saying you really need them think again. most race AT bindings do not have any riser option and those dudes fly up the steepest, slickest skin tracks on little mohair skins. so it can be done you just need to go out for a few days and figure it out. that being said you will appreciate the risers 10 fold once you get them back on your board.
