have not had time to check in.....ski shop madness in full effect! so not sure if it's still relevant or not....beta none the less. Less being the word to describe the natural snow pack in windsor county. Temp roller coaster sucks! its awesome one day and sucks the next and the next day back to almost awesome. Ascutney has snow......minimal down low and a do-able amount up high from the way it looks from Okemo. There is a solidified layer in the un-skied woods. Breakable crust and crunch waiting for the next dump! dawn patrol on the last storm resulted in some minor edge damage and some minor base sratches.....and one face shot in a drift. bring repairs to Northern Ski Works in Ludlow.

Yesterday was a serious slog fest. Got some turns although it wasn't pretty... Figured we better give it one more go before the rain gets here. On a positive note, it was good to be in the mountains on a sunny day.

Tonight could prove to be interesting. I've seen forecasts range up to 8 in. on the smuggs website. Madonna mountain lifts are closed. I've heard that Stowe has shut down lifts too. Do any of their closed trails play out well with some fresh snow?
