So I'm new to splitting and new to bozeman, however I have been riding for 15 years and am taking the avi safety course this week, just looking for someone who would be interested in kind of showing me the ropes. I have spent a bit of time on xc skis so I'm not completely unfamiliar with the touring aspect of spliting.

my little brother lives there, going to school. he's a skier but rides with more splitborders than skiers, he says its a pretty big community there. depending on your situation you should probably be able to meet quite a few guys out there

Yeah there is a pretty big touring scene here, all we need is some snow!

I've been splitting off and on for four years in the Bozeman area and would be cool with taking a noob on a mellow trip.

What kind of setup are you rocking?

Oh word, I've got a mojo 166 with burton cartels(temporary) until I can get some split specific bindings. I'm open on the weekends,how about you? What are you rocking?

Are your Cartels mounted on the voile plate interface?

Have you been up History Rock yet? It is a good area to cut your teeth.

I have a few different boards. Mostly DIYs and I rock Spark R&D Blazes.

Not sure what the objective is for next weekend. I have to look at the forecast and see what other people wanna ski. Depending on your schedule we could always dawn patrol somewhere during the week. There has been talk of hitting up Beehive sometime this week.

If it is a powder weekend next weekend I will be attempting some bigger objectives, but if the weather stays shitty I'm sure that no one would object to taking you into some mellower stuff.

Yeah there mounted on the sliders, not the most ideal setup but it works. I've only hiked history rock but I've heard that's a good one. I've never done a dawn patrol before how early do you normally go out ? If we get decent amount of snow this week then slides will probably be likely.

Yeah, it'll be hard to say how avy stability will be until we dig a pit. Might have to ride some low angle stuff to stay safe.

It is getting light around 7:45am now, so you can head out at 7am via head lamp and start getting turns as the sun comes up. Just depends on the objective and how long the approach is.

That sounds awesome but I have work at 730 every morning. I'll probably only be able to do weekends.

Just working into it myself, would love to get out with a few of you. My Brother is coming out in a week or two and we were gonna get a few turns in if anybody is interested in meeting up.

So ya....I am a noob as well!

It might be cool to get a bunch of people out together for a shred one of these weekends.

History Rock might be a good place for everyone to meet. I would also be down for Beehive.
