I just received a Burton Freebird I got off of eBay. It came with Voile skins. My question is how long should the skins be? The board is a 162, but the skins are 130 cms long. Are they too short?

Most people want the skins to reach at least the transition to the tail rocker. If they end in the camber portion before the tail rocker it may not be a big problem since you don't generate much traction there, but this is not the norm. I like my skins to extend well up the tail and I use tail clips (Spark or DIY) to secure them. Even if the skin gets contaminated with snow it stays in place.

I have a 156 prior that I trimmed the skins pretty short for. I cut the tails off about an inch or two past the rear contact point. Since the board has a rockered tail, I would guess that the skins are somewhere around 130cm. They seem to have plenty of traction.
