CHIMERA BACKCOUNTRY SNOWBOARDS: PRESS RELEASE

What?
In ancient Rome, the games served an important social function; satisfying society’s need for ritual bloodletting and ostentation. Totally unrelated to that, if you think Chimera is going to just give away a hand-crafted board at this splitfest, you’re huffing too much skin-glue. No, we intend to pit brother against brother (or sister) in a fight-to-the death, roman-style, three-legged split race (see video) to the howl of the crowd.

Format?
Hopefuls will put their names in a hat and the lucky Gladiators (and Gladiatrixs) will be selected at random to form teams, who will then race each other, 3-legged style.

The two partners of the winning team will then turn on each other and compete in a feat of skill to decide the survivor, who will be presented with a Chimera Sceptre 61.

Other swag will be distributed to runners-up.

Who?
Anyone who shows up prepared (see below)

What Should I Bring?
Your gear including poles, a splitboard, your skins, your boots (loaner pair of one-size-fits all for any hardbooters out there) and a suggested $2 donation to Utah Avalanche Center (UAC ). Extra style points and some swag for whoever shows up in a toga.

Where and When?
Saturday, February 9th, 4pm, the Snow-play area and coliseum, south side of the road, Mill-D parking lot (Big Cottonwood Canyon).

Just to amp up the crowd, the Sceptre is an amazingly light, well crafted, fun to ride board. Worth a fight.
