It dosnt sound like JG was much interested in understanding what you were proposing let alone pass it on to someone in engineering/product development. Back in 2008 the concern probably was selling lots of boards to Shawn White park rat wantabe's. Now that this segment of the market is growing hopefully they will give this a proper r&d budget.
as long as the channels aren't too far off of the position of the Voilé Inserts, and you use the double slottet pucks, it will always work with the standard pucks.

As far as I know JG is Burton's R&D guy. There are other people working under him but he is the man there.
Chris, if it makes you feel any better I sketched out a channel system for use with baseless bindings back in '94 or so on a brown paper bag in the car on my way to Baker with my dad. Two weeks later I read about Rev introducing the channels in TWBusiness and never did anything with my idea. I sympathize. I've shared ideas with a handful of people and then see similar products come out and the only thing I get out of it is satisfaction that my ideas are appreciated.

Holy fock. That's goddamn awesome.
I have to say that once I set my pucks, I rarely ever move them again, but initial setup would be way easier, and Jeezus that locking toe ramp is the shizz! Maybe what impresses me most is that they got Burton, Voile, and Spark to all collaborate on one project and make some potential magic. Federal Government, are you getting any of this?
Right now I don't even miss any Edison news.

haha patent applications with three-way assignees!

Really interesting! I think there is more going on in those pucks than is obvious from the video, I'd like to see them close up. I'm wondering how they keep the pucks flush against the end blocks of the bindings when twisting them into whatever random position? If they were just loose you'd think they'd tend to migrate to the center of the board as you're sliding the binding around, and you'd end up with a bunch of fore/aft play in the binding.

This is technically true, but then you'd be limited in stance angle even moreso than with the regular Voile setup (using one parallel slot and one inline slot is what allows some degree of stance angle adjustment beyond just the insert positions). Anyway it sounds like the Magneto should work with standard puck setups, you just won't have the same range of adjustment flexibility.
Anyway I think the key is that you can actually get to the screws through the binding baseplate. I think it's of limited use if you have to take the binding off to adjust things. Using the Voile tool never seems to actually line things up for me. But maybe that's just me, because:

Wow, you actually do this in the field with the current Voile setup? I wouldn't dare, it takes me forever to get the pucks lined up properly when switching them. At least to the point where all play in the binding is eliminated...

I'm a burton hater, but that is cool. I didn't have a problem setting my stance exactly the way I like it on my venture though. I'm also a guy who never changes my stance for the conditions

I did that once, I used my spark tool that came with my bindings, at the top of Cardiff ridge in LCC? Not very fun.
