Could be that it's specific to my model, the canister is just inside the bag with velcro around it to secure it. It's not a big deal, but it's just neater when it's behind a zip like yours.

I have the Prorider 15L, it has these metal hooks/loops to attach the board and I don't really like them. You cant really get them tight and they bend after a while. I have a friend with an (older) Guide 30 that has the same issues, but I think the newer ones may have different straps.

Just an fyi. My new (2012/2013) Guide 30L has the same metal buckles on the board loops. I haven't had to use them yet---so I can't comment yet on how well they work.

My Mammut Ride RAS 30 arrived yesterday. Bought the last one on SALE from MT Gear. Just started playing with it and checking it out. Looks great! Especially like the snowboard carry system. I was going to purchase a BCA float pack but I was bummed that they changed it from last year and the snowboard carry is an after purchase and will only carry it horizontally. LAME.
Planning on getting it out there this weekend after snow new snow in the San Juan's .....I hope!

i've ordered the RAS ride light 30 but i think i'll be lucky to see it before March

Look for a really nice, split-specific, snowpulse compatible bag coming from a splitboard company near you next season.

I really like the snowpulse bags and that's probably what I'll end up with. I see the advantages being that you can easily transport them on the airlines, switch them between multiple packs, and refill them for cheap. I don't know weights of the other brands, but the snowpulse seems pretty light too. I also like that their bag provides protection for the victims head in a slide.

Mammut now owns Snowpulse....

This is mainly true for the Snowpulse Lifebag packs and only a little bit for the RAS models.

I'm liking my bca float 32 a lot. some key features
-removable airbag system (different packs without the airbag will be available for purchase next year)
-helmet carry
-horizontal board carry (must be purchase separate)
-dedicated avy tools pocket
-big waist belt pocket
-comfortable, well built support system
-compared to other packs, relativly lighter weight (6.4lbs total, less than 3lbs heavier than my previous avalung outlaw pack)
-lots of volume, you get the full 32liters, they havent included the airbag/cannister in that

I am, just got my first tour with the pack yesterday. Great pack, carries weight VERY well. I'll post a better review soon.
