I shit you not...when I used to ride park...we would take a tow rope up to bomb 125ft of the hill to make the gap.
I'd have to say Spokane, WA..... it has a bit of a dicey side, but there is BC, ID, and PNW right in your roundhouse.

I would suggest that if you are not confident in your ability to deal with the avy conditions in the Jackson area, then Durango/Silverton should not even be on your radar. The snowpack in the San Juans, and the rest of Colorado for that matter is the most difficult to assess in all of America. The Jackson area is quite a bit more stable most seasons, due to the more consistent snowfall.
Yup, what he said. One week in Pemberton, BC last year in February we did way crazier stuff then we could all year in the San Juans last year. Fricken crappy snowpacks...
Holy hell, I learned to ski at the 'Gaw back in the oh..um...late 70's. 10 miles from the house I grew up in, $5 tix with a county id card and night riding meant plenty of midweek skiing after school. Sure it sucked and a kicker at the top meant landing at the bottom, but I have a ton of great memories from that place.

Any thoughts on Sandpoint, ID?
quint small town on the biggest lake in the region with the best BC access & ski area terrain out of the 5 local resorts in your back yard with "anything you want shopping 45 min away, and surronded by fishing hunting biking hiking sledding boating etc... It sucks here stay away
Are you kidding me? driggs!!! hahahaha I would prefer the vibe in Jackson to the vibe in Driggs. It is SOOO boring My grandmother was the leader of the drill team there... because that was the only thing to do that wasn't going into Jackson to flyfish (in like 1965).

Great riding at JH, but Jackson is unfriendly, has a weird vibe, and is remote. Vacation ok, but life? Forget it.
I agree. I could live in Victor or Driggs but its pretty damn far to the park at that point.
If you want a parking lot for jackson. go to Bondurant, its pretty close to Jackson and you can split out your back door. some imes up to some sick hot-pots and go hot tubbin' in January, on top of a mountain.
Maybe I'm just a pussy but I get scared of their snow pack too. Most of the gnar avalanche activity I've seen as been on my two visits to Wyoming.
From my small set of experiences, the Tahoe/Eastside combo is hard to beat.Durango too. Never been to Bozeman but hear about and see amazing pictures. Haven't spent much time in the Pacicfic NW either.
Well, really the best place is where you can get a job and feel most at home. SLC is big but it has been pretty damn good to me aswell.

Nope, other direction. Border of Fair Lawn/Glen Rock. I could be on 208 in a minute and to the 'gaw in 15 min. Other midweek spots were Sterling Forest and Mount Peter a little further. They still around?
good thing you splitboard BG, otherwise we'd be seeing you on "Cops"
