Someone finally listened, K2 Ultra Split?

Five ICS boards at this point and not a single problem one time with bindings moving or coming out of place. I've put every board I own to the test.

Having unlimited stance options with less screws and better board feel has made me a fan. It's not that traditional mounting is a problem; this system IMO is just better. At any rate, it all comes down to preference. For me, being able to quickly adjust my stance w/o removing the baseplate while on the mountain is useful.

Saw this in Australia at the SIA show. I snaped this shot.
New K2 plan shape too.
Kyle might have some info for us.
You guys might get it this year in Nth Hemisphere.
Would be good for the K stance issues.

You would think that this could be addressed by spilt binding manufacturers as well. The puck system is so outdated and has not been improved on in such a long time. Combining a redesigned puck/mounting system with these slider tracks could drastically improve the stance options. For instance, if you have big feet, there is very little room for adjustment to prevent toe/heel drag. By using this interface, you don't have to rely on the pucks alone for adjustment.

I've never ridden an ICS board before. How do these tracks affect the flex of the board?

I guess the idea behind it is to allow the board to flex more naturally. The double sliders kind of defeats the purpose though.

Honestly I'm more interested in the board than the slider tech. The K2 Ultradream is one of the new boards that most intrigues me this season. Looks like a super fun pow stick. I spoke with a K2 rep at the Seattle Ski Fever yesterday who hinted at an Ultradream split, but said it probably wouldn't happen next season....yet.

It is something different from the photo, but he wouldn't tell me what

It is frickn lighter though no doubt about it. I questioned the ICS too at first, but after riding my fish ltd for a few years, it seems pretty bomber. I'd be interested in a split with that set up.

This is very interesting. I had a conversation a with Wally at Voile about this very system a couple seasons back, and seeing that Brett (Cowboy) has a home built system like this, is there any chance this is a collaboration :scratch:

Lulu's post covered it. The announcement appears to be the K2kwicker system.. Basically, the Clicker reborn for split use. The claim a lot of new tech allows the boots to be as light as normal boots with all the added support needed to go without high backs and the likes...

Anyway, looks worth trying out at some point, but.. I'm pretty invested in my old heavy gear..

Voile with Sparks will have to be good enough for a while for me...
